Two of the more notable neighborhoods are Southport and Greenfield Hill, though these are not the only ones by any stretch of the imagination. According to the 2000 census, Fairfield has a population of 57,340. The town is often described as not too big and not too small, but just right for comfortable living. Fairfield has had its share of fame, as the show “Who’s the Boss?” took place in the city. Another well known show that was taped in the area was “Rachael Ray’s Block Party” making it a twice famous city as far as television fans are concerned. Fairfield dates back to 1639, and has always dealt with issues of popularity. This is because it was the source of many conflicts as many different groups wanted to stake claim to the beautiful land now known as Fairfield
